How to Combat Evil Thoughts? | 19 Biblical Affirmations

You can be subject and victim to your emotions and evil thoughts as a human. Ideas that make you believe that you will never have victory, that you will fail, that you are unlovable… Often these thoughts have their origins in your past, emotional wounds, evil thoughts or abuse.

You must understand that the 1st spiritual battlefield in your life happens in your thoughts. The enemy bombards your thoughts with suggestions to abort God’s promises for your life and dreams. If you accept these thoughts, you will begin to proclaim these things over your life. You may even have seen some of those things you thought and claimed come true. Yet you know that life and death are in the power of the tongue (Prov 18:21). But, you find yourself captive to these thoughts and the feelings they generate in you.

The Bible is full of affirmation verses. By personalising them and confessing them out loud daily, they will help you fight evil thoughts. Below are some of the affirmations found in the Bible.

How can we heal evil thoughts according to the bible?

According to biblical accounts, the first step is to know our thoughts without fear. In the conversation with Nicodemus, Jesus says: “Whoever does evil hates the light and does not come to light so that his works may not be revealed” (Jn 3:20). So, for fear of being accused, we sometimes prefer to squat in darkness, grossly thinking that the things we ignore or don’t talk about don’t exist.

We are often so intelligent that we remain highly functional, albeit grappling with our evil thoughts. So we never blatantly fail and never make up our minds to embark on a state of conversion. In the Christian faith, however, we can not be afraid of ourselves and of what we might find within ourselves because we are justified from the outset: “God shows his love for us because, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us ”(Rom 5: 8). The crucifixion of Christ means, among other things, that we can access ourselves without fear, accompanied to the underworld, held by the hand by him, as a father carries his son’s hand steady when they skirt a cliff.

1. What are the evil thoughts?

Evil thoughts represent thinking about the most inappropriate things at the most inconvenient times. These continuous thoughts that can sometimes even be images almost always fall into these three categories: aggressive and improper ideas, sexual and inappropriate thoughts, or religious and profane thoughts.

2. Why is it necessary to keep the mind clear of persistent thoughts?

So an individual’s efficiency depends mainly on the working capacity of the mind. If the mind is affected by disorders, it won’t be easy to understand situations or evaluate life’s various challenges fully. Let’s look at other reasons why an individual needs a pure heart.

3. Spiritual growth

It is commonly said that an unclean heart acts as a limitation to an individual’s spiritual growth. Every religious practice teaches the liberation of the mind as a simple method of reaching spiritual maturity.

4. Dynamism in carrying out our duties

It is well known that a clear mind can deal with any problem. The ability to respond effectively to duties depends on an individual’s mind. If an individual’s mind is clear, then he will be able to perform his tasks effectively.

5. How can you clear your mind?

Clearing the mind of persistent thoughts depends on an individual’s approach. People who have freed their minds from constant thoughts have come to this result with different methods. Indeed, an extremely relevant system is meditation. Therefore, to be effective, reflection depends on an accurate understanding of the modalities of its practice.

Therefore, the more a person understands meditation, the more effective the meditation itself will be. Yet another critical approach is the control of emotions – this helps the individual to clear the mind of overwhelming thoughts. An unstable emotionality generates an enormous distortion of the mind.

6. How do I get rid of evil thoughts in my head?

You can get rid of evil thoughts by shaping your life in a positive Christian way and thus giving negative thoughts less room. An inner attitude when you get up also helps you to think more positively – even if it is difficult.

Sometimes our thoughts frighten us. They are unmanageable and obsessive. They attack us in the hours of darkness when we are most defenceless, making us imagine catastrophes, mourning, and distressing events. These evil thoughts arouse anxiety as soon as you wake up. They take away energy and cause boredom when we are in the middle of the day, tired but unable to rest.

Suicidal evil thoughts, thoughts of envy, self-depreciation, sadness, lust, blasphemy, resignation, inadequacy. Phrases that wander around in our psycho-spiritual system: “You are worth nothing,” “you are not a child,” “it would be better if you weren’t there,” “so everything will end,” “you have to accumulate,”  “everyone does it, you do it too.”

Some evil thoughts derive from the environment in which we grew up and in which we live, from our old habits, from our weakness, and not necessarily from our malice or the suggestions of the enemy of human nature; they are not ours, they are not us. We are not just what we do or just what we think. We are much more, and the Bible makes it clear. Do not forget to read these 19 Biblical statements whenever you feel evil thoughts want to win the battle. May God bless you!
